Some people want the full prose walkthrough of the uncontested divorce process - those people should head over to the Missouri Uncontested Divorce Timeline article. Others just want to see the shape of the thing. This page is for the second group. Below is the typical Linnenbringer Law uncontested divorce, Day 1 through Day 60 or so, in convenient box form.
Day 1
You reach out and provide your information - online, by email, by phone, or in person (by appointment only). We're off and running.
Days 2-3
Rough drafts of all of your uncontested divorce paperwork arrive for review.
Days 3-14
You and your spouse review and sign. Revisions are made within 24 hours, free of charge, until everything reads exactly right.
Day 15 or so
The case is filed, along with the $150 filing fee. The mandatory 30-day waiting period begins, and the case is out of your hands, and into mine.
Days 15-45
The waiting period runs. Nothing is required of you or your spouse - no hearings, no check-ins, no homework.
Day 45 to 60, give or take
The Judge reviews the paperwork and enters the Judgment of Dissolution. Your divorce is final.
Some time later
You tell a friend how easy Linnenbringer Law made your divorce, and you never have to call me again (no offense).
A few footnotes to the boxes above: the 30-day waiting period is set by Missouri law and cannot be shortened by me or anyone else; the "Days 3-14" stretch is entirely in your and your spouse's hands, and is where fast cases are made and slow cases are, well, unmade; and the final step depends on the Judge's schedule - Judges go out of town, they conduct trials, and are generally just busy.
